MICE INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT
MICE is the English acronym for Meeting, Incentive, Convention, and Exhibition (in Indonesian: Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibition), in the tourism industry or exhibition, is a type a tourism activity where the participants are a large group, usually have been carefully planned to go together for the same interests.
1. MICE and several conducting business activities
- Understanding MICE
MICE is a combination of travel and a series of business activities carried out by a group of business people. This activity is carried out in order to get new concepts about service to consumers and solving problems that they often experience in business trips. With this activity, it is hoped that all MICE members can serve consumers better which in turn can increase income.
MICE can be concluded that MICE consist and combination of travel and several conducting business activities done by a several businessmen. This activity is carried out in order get new concepts about service to consumers as well solving problems that they often experience in business trips.
With this activity, it is hoped that all MICE members can serve better consumers who can ultimately improve income.
- MICE terms
There are several important terms in MICE that you need to know, among others are:
a) Venue
Is a place or location for an activity to be held MICE, for example: convention / exhibition center / court hall, building multipurpose, fairs, hotels, and others.
b) Fascia
It is a part on the stand, the panel on which the name is written companies or exhibitors.
c) Marking
As an activity to measure and determine the stand boundary points for an exhibition event
c) Sales kit / Marketing kit
It is a sales device as a material or handle material in selling / marketing MICE activities or events.
d) Standard stand
Stand to be used in regular events
e) Improved stand
The standard stands are developed with various decorations or decoration according to the tastes of the participants.
f) Special Design Stand
Stands are built with special designs and various sizes.
g) Exhibition Floor Plan
It is a visualization (technical overview and scale) of the layout stand as a whole at an exhibition event.
h) Billboards
Outdoor promotional media as a visual promotion, made of laid boards / panels / cloth / canvas
standing in the open and can be seen / read clearly, written main information, such as: title / theme / event name, venue, time, organizers, sponsors.
i) Backdrop
Stage background that contains information on the title / theme of the event, venue, time, organizer and sponsor.
j) Hanging Banner
Promotional media in the room, hanging on the ceiling of the building are known as a banner / hanging flag or hanging banner.
k) Banners
Outdoor promotional media, in the form of a colonnaded vertical flag, reads main information, such as: event title / theme, venue, time, organizers, sponsors.
l) Technical Meeting
Meetings organized by the exhibition organizer, two or three weeks before the exhibition by inviting the participant exhibition, hall owner, stand contractor and related parties.
m) Destinations
Business tourism destination / MICE, for example: domestic or overseas.
